Aft Deck Repairs

Overview

No idea what had happened, but at some point the solar arch had taken a bash and this then crushed the fixings into the deck. A number of the fixings were damaged, including the solar cabling gromits. The arch was running removed, and investigating the deck revealed a very sodden core. This was all removed, re-cored, smoothed, primered, and all fixings re-attached with generous (maybe too much?) sealant.

The deck fixtures were re-inforced with metal backing plates - partly as the previous ones had water damage, partly as this felt like a good idea to upgrade and re-inforce them in general. Again, all fixings generously sealed.

The Greek sun really helped in drying this out!
